New Years Day 2009

Phew ... what a day :-) A great way to start the New Year ... Mum and I took ourselves off to town this morning and left Lyndon with the kids heheehee
.
We caught a taxi to a street in the city centre somewhere and it's fabric shop after fabric shop, with a few other shops squashed in between ... we got there around 10.30am and 3 hours later we'd done about 15 shops and hadn't see the half of it! SOOOOO much to see and so interesting.
.
Here I am with half the days loot (we bought more later on!).

Just to give you an idea of the traffic ... this was around 3.30pm I think.
After we'd had lunch we spent a while in a big department store which had a huge sale. Got a few bargains and spent a long time waiting in the queue to pay!! Then we caught another taxi to KLCC to the mall there underneath the Twin Towers. We needed a wee thirst quencher by that time, so had a juice and some Famous Amos bikkies :-) (see the shopping bags have multiplied!)
Had a bit of a look around then went outside to take some photos of the towers ... was glad to get back inside to the air con though!

Lyndon was very kind and took the kids to Burger King while he had the car cleaned, then they looked at a bike shop (for your information Aunty Rebecca, Aaron is very keen to own a "bicycle" now and peddle to the "sea shore" heheheee). After that they went home and the kids had a sleep and when they woke he drove in and met us at the towers. We took pity on him and took the kids then and he had a wee break looking at watch shops! LOL (actually to be fair I think he spent most of the time at a camera shop).
.
We had Thai for tea, looked at a few more shops, the kids played on this ride on toy and we enjoyed a New Zealand Natural ice cream.
Then we went back outside to take some night shots of the Towers. They are so impressive at night. I am slowing getting the hang of my new camera (still have a billion things to learn about it yet though!).
Mum took this photo of us ... can you see us as tiny insignificant specks at the bottom of the towers!!
Lyndon says there's no shortage of stainless steel here! That's why the towers look so impressive and shiny.

So the first day of the new year has been and nearly gone! Everyone else has gone to bed and I am heading there myself. Night all.

Love the photos.

Happy New Year Rachel. Wow those towers are impressive. Sounds like you have had a wonderful time over the last two weeks. I hadn't realised your mum was spending xmas with you all how very cool. Love the muffin album you made for a friend, what a cool gift.
