Party Time

Here's the works of art Aaron make for Lyndon :-) Lyndon asked what he was going to do with the picture ... I told him to take it to work of course and hang it on his wall! (I need to stick the frog back on as Aaron as already pulled that off!)

Presents from the kids to Lyndon were pretty "Thomas" orientated. So Aaron really enjoyed them and Maddison was content to chew on a balloon.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . We celebrated Lyndon's birthday on Sunday night with a few of our friends. We were hoping to have it outside in the BBQ area (although we weren't having a BBQ), but unfortunately it poured with rain late afternoon, so that put a stop to that idea. Here's a pic looking down on the BBQ area from our floor (in the rain!). We had asked for an extra table and some more chairs and they had it all set up for us already. Oh well ... probably worked out better to have it in our apartment anyway because I put Maddison to bed as she was rather scratchy!

We ordered Indian and Thai takeaways so plenty to eat and I haven't had to cook today either with all the left overs! (Better still!) :-)

Cross with myself because I forgot to take a photo of all the food before we started eating! Here's what we had ...

Indian:
- Cocktail Samosa's (these nearly took the roof of my mouth - I had given one to Aaron and wondered why he was drinking so much, bit into mine and phew! Gave the rest of mine and Aaron's to Lyndon to finish!!)
- Plain & Garlic Naan
- Steamed Rice
- Murg Makhanwala (like the butter chicken in NZ but a bit hotter!)
- Rogan Josh (traditional north Indian curried lamb)
- Kheema Matar (minced lamb and peas cooked with spices in thick gravy)
- Palak Paneer (cubes of cottage cheese in a spinach gravy)
- Murg Tikka Masala (chicken cooked in a spicy tomato gravy)

Thai:
- Cocktail Springrolls
- Khow Ob Sapparod (Pineapple fried rice with shrimps)
- Phad Woon Sen Gai (fried glass noodle with chicken)
- Yam Song Roam (mixed mango and papaya salad)
- Neua Phad Khin (stir friend sliced beef with ginger and onion)
- Poo Nim Caree (crispy softshell crab)
- Gai How Bai Tuey (Thai herbs marinated chicken wrapped in pandan leaves)

And some of our friends bought a cake from Secret Recipe - Chocolate Indulgence :-) delicious!! Yes the cake was for Lyndon, but for some reason little boys seem to gravitate towards candles and cake!! :-)

And here's our very good friend Aunty "Iwene" checking out the candles and having cuddles with Aaron.
